Italy’s Armin Zöggeler, the man with the straightest posture, clinched his eighth career World Cup overall title in luge and Canadian coach Wolfgang Staudinger said he got caught with his pants down Saturday at Canada Olympic Park. Zöggeler, the reigning Olympic champion, posted a two-run time of one minute 30.375 at the Viessman World Cup in Calgary.

Altenberg Germany brings top 15 finish

The four Canadian luge athletes who teamed up to win Canada a silver medal in the team competition earlier this week, all slid into the top-15 at the Luge World Cup in Altenberg, Germany over the weekend. Calgary’s 24-year-old Sam Edney enjoyed one of his strongest performances of the year in men’s singles on Sunday. Edney finished as the top Canuck after sliding into 13th spot with a time of one minute 51.561 seconds.
